Bio
My name is Serra Sermet and I am thrilled to be joining the PVS school community as an educator. Working with children, helping them learn and grow, is a passion of mine. I’ve worked with kids running Portland’s exceptional “Bicycle Safety Program” and have worked as an elementary school teacher in the Centennial School District for twelve years before coming home to PVS. I wanted join the PVS community because I am passionate about working at a school that cherishes and develops the whole child. I am so very excited to take my students on the creative journey of learning. It is a journey that for me includes skits, songs, and art. It includes authentic connections and relationships. It includes taking chances, making mistakes, dreaming big, and learning from each other. Outside of school I enjoy hiking to waterfalls, photography, costume making and spending time with my family and friends.
